Purchased GW in Steam, unable to enter game
Sorry for the question, but how do I get started with GW, having purchased it through Steam? I have a NCSoft master account already in place from playing CoV long ago, but I never saw anything during GW installation that showed a serial code.
I also never saw an access code that I might plug into GW itself, when trying to create an account. Any idea where I get that? I already paid for the game, is it stored somewhere in the registry?

Possibly steam sent the serial key in an e-mail but I'm not positive about their protocol.

You don't need a serial to install the game, so no that wouldn't be in registry. It's handled online entirely.
It'll have to be steam's website or your e-mail; but, I don't use Steam, so I couldn't help you out.

And that's why digital distribution is baed. D:
An e-mail would be the most logical thing, or some option under "my games" in steam.

E-mail is my first guess.
Normally steamworks will prompt you for the code during installation, but GWs takes the code in the game itself and is not stored locally.

Yeah this is weird. I woudl check your email, steam account, or NCSoft account. I'm guessing it's at your NCSoft account possibly.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. No email from Valve, but lo and behold, right-mouse click on the installed game revealed an option to see the game CD key. FWIW, I have been happy with Steam, was just thrown off as this is the first download that required registration after purchase.

Yeh, 3rd party games in steam are always like this, for future reference.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. I just recently purchased the Guild Wars trilogy and in no small part was this due to its availability on Steam.
FWIW, the Steam install concludes with the setup app sending you to the NCsoft account management page and the key info is sent directly to the page at that time. If you exit out before that step, you will need to look up your key and send it in manually by right-clicking on the game name in the My Games tab.
